About Blacksmith

  • We started by building infrastructure to run CI workloads really fast. Our first product helps companies run GitHub Actions substantially faster and cheaper by owning and operating our own global fleet of bare-metal machines rather than renting generic cloud VMs.

  • Today, we orchestrate tens of millions of Firecracker VMs each week, running CI for 5,000+ companies and hit ~$50M in ARR in 2.5 years. We've more than 5x’d our revenue since the start of 2026.

  • We operate thousands of bare-metal machines across multiple regions, regularly schedule 100k+ vCPUs concurrently, and run a petabyte-scale Ceph cluster that we manage ourselves.

  • We’ve raised $58.5M from Seed to Series B, led by Google Ventures (GV) & Peak XV Capital, and we’re intentionally building a small, but exceptional team.

  • Blacksmith was founded by a team with deep systems and scaling experience, including building search/ads infrastructure at Faire, and operating large distributed systems at Cockroach Labs. Our GTM is led by Jon Boyer, formerly Head of Sales at Zapier.

  • We're now extending the same CI infrastructure into a broader platform: running agent sandboxes at scale and building our own background coding agent on top of it.

You're a good fit if you

  • Have strong taste in what not to build. Blacksmith cares deeply about delight and keeping things simple, and enterprise roadmaps are where products go to bloat. You'll make real progress for our largest customers while fighting the “enshittification” of the product.

  • Have shipped enterprise capabilities at a growth-stage infrastructure or developer-tools company. You've personally taken a product through the SSO/RBAC/audit-log/security-review gauntlet and know what makes a buyer's security team say yes.

  • Have matured a post-PMF product, not just launched new ones. You find "make the core product undeniable for the biggest customers" more compelling than greenfield exploration.

  • Are technical enough to earn trust with infrastructure engineers and technical buyers. You understand CI/CD, cloud networking, and compute platforms, and can go deep on how ours work.

  • Have sold to or worked closely with enterprise buyers (VP Eng, Head of Platform, CISO) and understand procurement cycles, security reviews, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA).

  • Are AI-native in your own workflow: Claude/Cursor-style tools daily, comfortable with MCP and CLI-based tooling, and instinctively automate the manual parts of the PM job.

  • Always take a customer-first approach and enjoy being the voice of the customer internally.

What you'll be working on

This is not a 0-to-1 exploration role. Our products have strong pull; your job is to make them enterprise-grade as we move upmarket from high-growth startups to large engineering organizations.

  • Own the roadmap that makes Blacksmith enterprise-ready across our product lines (CI, sandboxes, and our coding agent). You'll operate like a GM for our enterprise segment: you own the outcome across product lines and work with whichever engineering teams own the relevant systems, rather than owning one team going after a greenfield opportunity.

  • Define and drive our security, auditability, and compliance surface: audit logging and SIEM integrations, certifications, and the trust documentation that gets us through enterprise security review.

  • Shape our enterprise networking story: static egress identity, egress policy controls, private connectivity, and tenant isolation, in partnership with the engineering teams that operate our fleet.

  • Own enterprise identity and administration: SSO, roles and permissions, org management, and least-privilege integration models.

  • Build the programmatic surface enterprises expect: usage and cost APIs, cost attribution, and integrations into the observability and cost-management tools our customers already run.

  • Sit in on enterprise deals with sales; turn procurement blockers, security questionnaires, and POC feedback into a prioritized roadmap. Own packaging and pricing for the enterprise tier with GTM.

Compensation and benefits

  • Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance.

  • Competitive base + equity.

  • 401k match.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Annual offsite.

  • Early-exercise stock options.

  • 12 weeks fully paid parental leave (US).

Compensation

$200K – $240K • Offers Equity
